Training and Support
We offer a range of bespoke training opportunities to Schools, Colleges, Universities, Conference and Youth Organisations. Our sessions address issues of awareness, developing knowledge and addressing discrimination, whilst focusing on the particular needs of your group/organisation.
We are also developing our work for primary age students. See our PowerPoint below.[embeddoc url=”http://sayouthtrust.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Primary-schools-LGBT-seminar.ppt” width=”75%” height=”75%” download=”all”]
Handsworth School- Sheffield
The training increased pupil’s awareness of LGBT issues. When we had our OFSTED inspection the students talked about anti- homophobic bullying.
Holgate Meadows Special School- Sheffield
Undoubtedly great. The young people and staff member who attended facilitated an interesting and vigorous discussion with questions posed answered honestly and with real life examples.
Heeley Youth group-Alternative Educational establishment
Some of our learners have stereotypical ideas on sexuality in general.
At times their views or the opinions they express are dictated by group dynamics and the fear they might be mocked. Sheena Amos Youth Trust’s visit helped our organisation to demonstrate that we are a group supportive of LGBT issues.
Also, some of our learners were unclear about the meaning of certain terms. The workshops offered clarifications and empowered some of our young people to think differently.
